The first episode is the result of influences from Gwen Stefani , her album from years back Love. Angel. Music. Baby. and her four exceptional Harajuku-styled dancers. And great lyrics ! I absolutely love the line “& I could be your favourite girl, forever—perfectly together” from The Sweet Escape which stayed on my msn nickname for quite a bit because I thought it was (and still is !) such a simple, spontaneous and girlish confession.
Because I like to leave the best for last and this comes in the form of Gwen’s single Cool, PLEASE, please listen to it & watch the FAB video below. It’s a beautiful song (always, always on my On-the-Go and Top 25 Most Played lists) and Gwen looks absolutely gorgeous in a vintage 60’s pin-up poster kinda way, inspiring a couple of looks in the launch of thedevilwears' premiere on Tuesday.
Love the way the video was shot, it was supposedly at Lake Como in Italy and it looks so, so beautiful I’m definitely placing it on my must-go list.
MTV describes Love. Angel. Music. Baby. as “rhythmic, rebellious, confessional, sexy, fierce, playful, funky, ballsy, and emotional”. What an apt description; I am won over with the choice of adjectives, which are really what I want thedevilwears to be all about. What can I say, I’m excited to embark on this journey. Stay tuned !
